New! Basstache V2 3D-printed bass thumbrest
NEW, UPDATED DESIGN. See the end of listing for the new stuff!
For those players who like the vintage style and feel of a bass with a thumbrest or "tug bar" but want to have a little fun with it, the Basstache is a simple alternative, shaped like a classy handlebar mustache. Maybe your bass is a hipster, or has a steampunk flavor to it (like mine in the photo), or maybe you just dig the recent trend in "put a mustache on it". All good!
Uses your existing thumbrest screws and mounting holes, so no modifications should be needed to your bass! (Bass not included)
UPDATES for V2:
- Satin finish; No longer post-processed for gloss. I found that the printing and glossing processes just made for an ugly top finish, and sometimes the finish was sort of sticky. Plus, the PVB filament was simply not as reliable as PLA, etc.
- Consistent thickness end to end; no more "falloff" going from the middle out to the ends. Gives a consistent anchoring depth for your thumb.
- 15% lower price! Not having to post-process saves me time and money, so it's going to save you money too.
- Now available in any color my Bullseye Buttons are, since these aren't using specialty filament anymore. Place an order and if you don't want the default black color, just send me a message at the same time!
